Refurbishing flat roofs with EPDM waterproofing membranes from RESITRIX®

Robust bituminous single layer membrane, compatible with a range of  material including felt and bitumen

Flat roof refurbishment projects require specialists: from the roof condition analysis and the requirements resulting from continued use of the building and the roof to the development of a cost-efficient refurbishment solution in compliance with all the valid standards.

Together with our technical team, we as manufacturers can provide our customers with expert solutions and support for your refurbishment project.

As with so many things in life, the permanent and reliable waterproofing of a flat roof is a question of technology. Thanks to our innovative, high-quality RESITRIX® waterproofing solutions, a roof’s service life can even exceed the service life of the building it is installed on. The South German Plastics Centre acknowledges the fact that RESITRIX® has a service life of more than 50 years.

RESITRIX® waterproofing membranes make partial surface and complete refurbishment projects on the existing roof waterproofing solution an absolute doddle, so you can rest assured that your roof won’t end up leaking again.

Refurbishment right on top of an old waterproofing solution

If, once all the necessary preliminary inspections are complete, it is decided that the existing layers are stable and can be left in place, so only the roof waterproofing solution has to be supplemented, RESITRIX® waterproofing membranes offer a range of possibilities for applying a new waterproofing solution. Laying one of the self-adhesive RESITRIX® membranes has proven to be particularly beneficial, as it can be laid on all substrates that are free from plasticisers once the old waterproofing solution has been prepared.

Refurbishment with additional insulation or following complete removal

It is not always possible to use this approach – if the functional safety of the individual functional layers is restricted, or if there are plans to perform an energy-based refurbishment, for example. When arranging an additional thermal insulation layer or when completely restructuring the layer structure, RESITRIX® waterproofing membranes can be arranged right on top of all conventional insulating materials or flat sub-structures. The suitable RESITRIX® membrane is then selected and laid as a single-layer solution, taking all the conditions into account. Please refer to the RESITRIX® planning guidelines for the versatile layer combinations and laying variants.
